Safety and Security

Whatever the cause of danger and destruction today is abnormal and has an evil source. I believe it simply and directly demonstrated the breakdown of society, its rules and the fundamental decency commanded by its citizens. The “rule of law” is meaningless without prosecution of violations of those laws.

We should all have the privilege to feel safe in our places of living, work, and worship. The fourth amendment offers that protection from intrusion by government. Government is bound to protect life and property.

Whether teachers should be armed is a local decision in each jurisdiction, even an individual one. Some churches and institutions have their own security. Some do not. While our society rebuilds the common decency which ultimately protects all its citizens, self defense is a good decision.

The second amendment is not only an American right conferred by our constitution, it is a natural right. God gave us life. It is up to us to protect it and honor it.
