Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Tom Glendinning served in the United States Marine Corps and spent most of his life in business. At the age of fourteen, he was placed on the board of Glencliff Hospital and went on to serve as Vice President and President.
Tom’s service to the citizens of Chatham County is extensive, which includes the following boards and commissions: Chatham County Economic Development, Tax Appraiser, Planning Board, Board Equalization & Review and Board of Adjustment. He was a member of Saint Bartholemew Vestry and worked at various companies, including Green Glen contracting, Saralyn Corp real estate and Wastek recycling.
He was the first organic landscaper in North Carolina and founded the NC Composting Council and served on over a dozen non-profit boards. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Tom’s passion is making sure people are being treated fairly by government and making the world safer and cleaner.
